digitalKENTE® is a design studio where color melds with culture. It was created by myself Tiana Denine Harris a Black woman from the American mid-west who grew up in the 90’s wearing kente cloth as a way to connect to my distant heritage. Our goal is to encourage self-pride and self-expression in people of melanin-rich cultures through unapologetically colorful, fashionable prints made for activewear, swimwear, accessories, and home decor.
At digitalKENTE® Shop discover melanated cultures of the African, Asian, & Latin diaspora. By combining modern craft with ancestral patterns a-typical in fashion we remix indigenous textile motifs into digitally crafted designs that are bold, multi-dimensional, and culturally appropriate. digitalKENTE®’s print collections are meant to evoke a sense of history and nostalgia. Every digital warp and weft create shapes and colors that remind the wearer of cultures they’ve visited, belong to, or want to experience. Let our prints take you to faraway lands rich in color and culture.
