About the Property
The Asbury Park Boardwalk redevelopment project includes approximately 320,000 remarkable square feet of potential retail and entertainment development along Asbury Parks prime oceanfront and boardwalk. The project represents an unprecedented opportunity to rebuild one of the nation’s most historic beachfront communities. Asbury Park is located in Monmouth County, New Jersey and is surrounded by upscale lifestyle communities that are among the most affluent in the nation. Madison Marquette has and continues to rehabilitate and elevate retail, dining, and entertainment venues by adding successful and stable year-round tenants. To increase foot traffic, Madison Marquette coordinated with entertainment leaders to bring internationally acclaimed music artists, which cultivated the eclectic ambiance Asbury Park desires to maintain. Launched in 2006, the entire waterfront redevelopment has evolved into a world class destination, with countless earned media for one of the top locations to visit in the world.
Natural Attraction: Asbury Park’s pristine mile of sand and water continue to draw surfers, swimmers, sunbathers, fishermen, and people-watchers, just as it has for the past century.
Unique Culture: Funky, artistic, and off-beat city, Asbury Park is driven by entrepreneurs and creative spirits, and it features an impressive number of live music venues.
Thriving Business Community: Asbury Park’s business community is as vibrant and diverse as its citizens. Business centers include the Boardwalk, Asbury Avenue, the Downtown Business District, Cookman Avenue, and the Main Street corridor.
Young, Affluent Population: While the summer months draw big crowds, Asbury Park is home to a young and affluent community of year-round residents — nearly 30 percent of whom are “millennials.”
Legendary Music Scene: Well-known beachside city among original live music fans at the Jersey Shore. It was made famous in the 1970’s by musicians such as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bon Jovi, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and today The Stone Pony Summer Stage has hosted The Jonas Brothers, MTV Music Awards performances, Sea, Hear, Now and other well known artists and events.
