The French and English languages often share similarities in meaning, spelling, and sometimes pronunciation—at least, that’s what the French think. Exploring this linguistic kinship became our shared hobby, as we learned one another’s native language. As we traveled through Mathieu’s home region and discovered the unique character of France’s diverse regions, we deepened our appreciation for the French luxurious lifestyle.

Inspired by the French commitment to long-refined craft, we collected treasures and listened to the stories told by the craftspeople and sellers we met. When it came time to identify our collection of ‘savoir chic,’ we found that while some words transcended language barriers, others were lost in translation. Mathieu struggled to find English terms that conveyed the same feelings as their French equivalents, and Kamryn struggled the grasp the passion of the words.
